About us
We are a group of friends and families with like-minded hearts for long-term charitable support to rebuild Myanmar where the local people are displaced to distant rural areas without shelter, education, or healthcare services.
OUR HISTORY: Most of us were born in Myanmar (formerly known as Burma) and reunited here after leaving our native land for different reasons. Despite challenges while moving here, we all were able to settle down in USA, the land of opportunities. When the deadly tropical cyclone caused the worst natural disaster in the recorded history of Myanmar in May 2008, our group started funding contributions to support the rescue and relief efforts of local charities. Since then, we were alerted to share our financial blessings back to the needy people in our native land, which became one of the world’s poorest countries due to decades of military rule and armed conflicts with ethnic minorities.
When the pandemic hit the country in 2021-22, its poor healthcare infrastructures had caused rapid/mass fatalities, we decided to contribute our funding more regularly than before. Since 2022, we were able to support local needy communities by our monthly contributions especially for education and healthcare related services in rural areas (mostly in the east-northern areas of Myanmar). As we could see the substantial help to the needy from our not-so-much contributions to those local charities (effectively run by volunteers/charity workers), we decided to have this nonprofit charity organization (Myitta Myay Myanmar) for long-term support to self-sustainable empowering and rebuilding programs.
‘Myitta’ in Burmese means ‘Love’, ‘Myay’ means ‘Land’, thus our organization means ‘Myanmar Land of Love’ where we sow the seeds with love and for love so that they may grow to fruitful trees of love for all children and their families in our love land!!
Our directors are dedicated to providing their time, talents and treasures to achieve this mission of empowerment by collaborative efforts with local community leaders and volunteers.
